The Project:

With guaranteed work on site until 2034, and likely additional land acquisition extending this past 2040, this means the right candidate could work on projects on the same large development for the next 20 years at least!

There’s over 5,000 apartments and thousands upon thousands of square foot of commercial space, multiple millions invested into building schools, community space, hard landscaped public areas, and hectares of grassland, and massive infrastructure work with £1M spent on a temporary road, and £3M spent on project office space; there is arguably no project bigger or more iconic than this one.

This scheme obviously isn’t being built in one go. The current phase in question totals 1,260 units, with blocks containing circa 300 units each. Across the current live phases, by Christmas 2017 there will be 1,000 units of very high quality apartments in production at various stages, and the entire scheme looks to deliver 250 new build apartments each year.

The phase consists of a podium slab with large scale infrastructure work including a substation, hard and soft landscaping, and roadworks below new build reinforced concrete frame towers ranging from 5 up to 27 storeys, and a range of glass, brickwork, and cladded façade, and scaling internal fit-out specifications ranging from affordable up to super luxurious.

The Role:

This is an important and diverse managerial position on site where you will be responsible for the successful and safe delivery of exceptional quality residential apartment blocks, overseeing either internal fit-out and finishing or external works depending on your skill set and experience. You will be required to manage subcontract trades to drive units to completion with a focus on quality, whilst overseeing health & safety, procedures and various other site duties, reporting into a Construction Manager & Project Manager, taking apartments through to completion; handing the keys to the customer care team.

This role would suit people that are happy staying at Site Manager level throughout their career, but is best suited to hungry ambitious site managers that want to progress to Senior Site Manager, Project Manager or above in the near future.

The roles salary ranges from £45,000 up to £60,000 dependant on experience, with a competitive bonus scheme starting at 10% of your annual salary, and a great benefits package that includes a top end car or car allowance of £5,000, family health care, a life assurance scheme that pays 4x your annual salary, company share scheme options, a rewarding pension plan, and various other benefits.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate would have a background in managing either internal fit out or external works on residential developments, be a hard worker, and someone who is able to work as part of a team under pressure, create strong bonds with direct staff and subcontractors, along a strong understanding of the construction process.
