Vacancy for Assistant Quantity Surveyor

I am currently working in partnership with a construction company who can best be described as a hybrid between a main contractor and a residential developer. My client has regional offices throughout the United Kingdom but focus the majority of their operations in London and the South East.

Their Hertfordshire office which covers London, the Northern Home Counties and parts of the Thames Valley are aggressively expanding and so are seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to help process commercial activity on brand new schemes.

The Role:

Based out of the Hertfordshire office you will be predominantly responsible for a £17 million new build, social housing project in Berkshire. You will gain exposure to working on both traditional build and RC structures, mixed use elements (shop frontage, educational builds, leisure facilities etc) and working joint venture sites. Your duties will include:

  • Procurement of sub contractors
  • Contract administration
  • Cost control
  • Assisting with final accounts
  • Report writing

What we are looking for:

  • Candidates must have 2 years’ experience working for a main contractor or developer
  • be able to demonstrate adequate knowledge of construction and the building trade
  • you should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and highly organize
  • Have a basic level of contractual awareness and be capable of working independently

My client’s rapid expansion plans and the longevity of the multi phased site you would be working means they are seeking an ambitious individual who can be fast tracked basis to be promoted to Quantity Surveyor over a short period of time.
