I am currently working in partnership with an industry leading
social housing contractor / developer (new build) who are expanding
aggressively across all regional offices but in particular throughout their
London region. They are currently building over £600M worth of regeneration
projects within the M25 with each project possessing exciting and complex
elements - this being so they are seeking a strong Materials Buyer who can
procure materials for large housing schemes.
This role is to be responsible for a 1,500 unit multiphase, regeneration
project valued at over £260M – the demolition of a 1000 units has already taken
place with the first phase of 300 units looking to complete in the summer of
2017. This project is expected to run for a further 10 years providing a
solid level of job security!
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Buyer, the Materials Buyer will be based out of
the Hertfordshire office in a very hands on; "nuts and bolts" position;
providing an excellent opportunity tobe involved in the full process from start
to finish.
The successful applicant
You should have a strong background in residential development working for either a main contractor or residential developer. In terms of project experience, you should be able to demonstrate that they have started and completed projects and should have a good level of experience on Reinforced Concrete Frame buildings, with Metsec facades, Brickwork and Concrete basements.
